What's wrong with this picture?

I'll tell you what's wrong.

On Monday, I dropped off my brilliant, beautiful, unbelievably awesome, second born at summer camp. Today, five days later, I picked him up carrying FOUR pairs of CLEAN SOCKS.

Um.....Ew. Just Ew.

It can be easy to overlook that the feet of the ones closest to us need to be washed, too. Unless of course they wear one pair of socks for a week. Then it's pretty obvious.

What's wrong with this picture is that I haven't washed my son's feet in ages.

  1. Ok. I love the photo because I thought it was going to be some comment about socks in pairs! Nobody has pairs of socks!
I have a friend who says he doesn't have socks - He has 'sock'.
Your son is normal - get over it (what is that smell?)
From a book I am reading: Try washing peoples feet rather than stepping on them.
That has nothing to do with your blog message but could become a missionary statement for the week.
I picked you up from the Flowerdust blog.
Personally I hope it keeps snowing in the US because I am spending 25 hours in an airplane to come skiing in a couple of weeks - snow evangelism I call it!

  2. Funny! From the tiny picture in my fb, I thought that was a picture of weed. (I can't believe I just typed that!) Anyways, had no idea what a missionary could possibly be doing with drugs - even the worst missionary so I clicked on your blog. Just sent Ryan to winter camp for the weekend. Fully expecting him to come home with clean socks - but I paced them just in case. Have fun in the snow Jamie, and just say NO! :-)

  3. Could me worse, Mama. It could have been 4 pair of clean underwear.

  4. Glenda - Thanks for popping in with a comment! Boys DO STINK!! As the mother of 3 sons, 16, 12, and 9, the odors that have made their way across my palate are.. well.... indescribable... and frightening...

Joanne - If it's cold those socks may come to good use, probably all at once!, or pulled over hands or ears or something!! ;)

Carrie - Haha! Someone said the same thing on my FB page, all I could say was this: uuuuuuumm. Let's just say I didn't have to wash a very big load, and thank Jesus that He didn't ask us to wash butts!!!

    Boys are gross!!! Hahaha.

  5. Since it seems you girls think all boys stink, I will come to his defense. Maybe he wore flip flops or sandals or something. You don't want him to be a weirdo and wear socks with sandals!

However, maybe he didn't even have sandals or flip flops and therefore you know he wore one pair of socks the whole 5 days.

C'mon leave a comment. Don't make me beg...just do it. Please?...c'mon, pleeease?...PLEEASE???
